Human Experimentation and Mockery by the Government ( Operation Sea Spray )

September 1950, U.S Navy Minesweeper ship.

Spent 6 days spraying serratia marcescens in the the air off the northern coast of California.

Serratia Marcescens is a species of rod shaped, gram negative bacteria. It is a facultative anaerobe and an opportunistic pathogen. It lives in soil and water. Symptoms include meningitis, endocarditis, bacteremia, pneumonia, and urinary tract infection. This bacteria is known to produce bright red pigment and is used to conduct experiments.

The Navy says the purpose of doing this was to "determine the susceptibility of a big city like San Francisco to a bioweapon attack by terrorist. "

The bacteria spread fast in the city and to surrounding areas, the navy claimed not to have any knowledge of the effect that this bacteria would have on people.

After some time 11 people checked into the hospital with complaints of a urinary tract infection. During testing, the doctors noticed a red color in the patients urine. An investigation was put on by the Stanford University Hospital. 1 patient died.

There is more to this story, but the reason I wanted to share it with you is so you could see the blatant mockery. You know how some people said that cranberry juice can help a urinary tract infection, which hasn't been proven but people claim it can. What's the name of the most popular cranberry juice we have in the US?

Ocean Spray

Ocean Spray. Operation Sea Spray. The bacteria they experimented with that gave people urinary tract infections.

The Soviet Union has also sprayed bacteria on their population, and I could imagine many more countries have done the same thing on their people too. Who's to say they aren't doing it now?
